The Florida State Seminoles have one of the most impressive histories in college football. There are a handful of teams that you could say have more successful histories, like the Alabama Crimson Tide or the Oklahoma Sooners, but the Noles have some unique history that their fans love and appreciate. You can’t talk about the history of the football program without mentioning quarterback Jameis Winston and wide receiver Rashad Greene.

On Friday, the Seminoles put out a statement that the two of them would be inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame, something that should have been done a long time ago.

“Tonight, Rashad and Jameis officially go into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame! They will be recognized, along with the entire 2025 class, during the 1st quarter of tomorrow’s game.”

Winston, currently the backup for the New York Giants, hasn’t had quite the NFL career that many thought he would, but it’s fair to say that he has made the most of it. And man, he has given the entire football world some pretty unforgettable moments. To Seminoles fans, the most unforgettable moment is undoubtedly the National Championship the Noles won.

Winston finished his Seminoles career as the fourth all-time passer in program history with 7,964 passing yards, and second all-time in passing touchdowns with 65. Mind you, that was all in two years, where Chris Weinke, the guy above him, played for three years. Winston won the Heisman Trophy and was selected first overall in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rashad Greene played for Florida State from 2011 to 2014. In his last season at FSU, Greene led the ACC in catches with 90 and receiving yards with 1,365. He finished with 3,830 receiving yards and 29 receiving touchdowns, the most all-time at FSU in both categories. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Both of these guys should have been inducted a long time ago, but it’s better late than never.
