Seminoles want an in-state kid who’s committed to a recent National Champion, and they’re doing whatever it takes to flip him
The Florida State Seminoles are really wanting to flip Corbyn Fordham.
Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles are trying to flip a 2026 tight end from the Ohio State Buckeyes, and it appears they are pretty close to doing so.
“Three-star tight end Corbyn Fordham has been committed to Ohio State since last November, but FSU looks to be gaining serious ground with the Jacksonville Bolles School product. He’s a legacy for the Seminoles, as his dad, Todd, was a lineman for the program in the ’90s. Ohio State is expected to speak with Fordham on Monday evening, but I’ve logged a pick for the Seminoles to flip the 6-foot-3.5, 215-pounder away from the Buckeyes. The pull of being a legacy, exciting off-the-field opportunities, and a blazing start to the 2025 season have head coach Mike Norvell and his staff in a good spot with the tight end target,” Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong wrote.
Florida State currently has the No. 15 2026 class in the country, but could definitely use Fordham.
Seminoles need another tight end, and Fordham makes sense
For their 2026 class, they have four guys committed who are receivers, and a few who are listed as athletes who could play receiver. So, they don’t need any receivers in the 2026 class.
However, they do need a tight end, as they only have one in Xavier Tiller, who is the No. 9 tight end in the country. Grabbing one more would not hurt, as it would honestly help make the class a bit more balanced.
FSU is not scared to take on some three-star recruits. To them, these guys aren’t really rated by stars. They are rated and ranked on the coach’s personal scale by what they see on tape, and how important and helpful they would be to the school. So, just because some site ranks him as a three-star does not mean that he is a three-star.
Fordham has a great frame to play the position, and when you watch the tape, it’s clear the kid knows how to catch the ball and get open. Not to mention, the Seminoles always want to make sure that they are recruiting in-state well. This would be huge in that regard.
But for now, they’ve got to get ready for the Miami Hurricanes.
