Florida State got a lot out of a certain group of players, which only shows the Seminoles aren’t going anywhere anytime soon
The Florida State Seminoles got a lot out of their young guys, including some true freshmen.
It’s important that the Florida State Seminoles won their Week 2 game against East Texas A&M, in the fashion they won it. Week 1 was huge, as they beat the Alabama Crimson Tide, so you don’t want your team letting their foot off the gas. Not to mention, scoring 77 points allowed some of the very young players a chance to play and show what they can do.
I’d say after seeing them in live game situations, getting the reps they got, that the Seminoles have some freshmen that are going to be very good. It’s clear that FSU isn’t going anywhere.
Seminoles got a lot out of their young guys, including true freshmen
There are three players in particular that caught a lot of people’s eyes in this win. There’s more than that who played great when talking about the young guys, but three true freshmen in particular played amazing. Quarterback Kevin Sperry, who actually came in during the second quarter because FSU was winning by such a wide margin, and wide receiver Jayvan Boggs, who scored a touchdown on the day. And of course, running back Ousmane Kromah, who was electric.
Sperry threw a touchdown on the day to Boggs, and then another one in the game, too. He was only 4/5 with two TDs, and 61 pass yards, but he made great decisions. And, his legs were a factor, too. Sperry rushed the ball three times for 22 yards, with one of them almost ending up as a touchdown, but he ended up falling short right at the goal line. Sperry showed that after Castellanos leaves, he could be a guy to watch as the next QB leading the Noles.
Boggs didn’t do much outside of the touchdown catch he made, but we have heard about him all offseason, and that he is a guy who will be the future of the offense in terms of the weapons they have. Boggs is extremely athletic, and looks like he has the potential to be one of the best WRs in the country by the time he is in his third season.
Then there is Kromah, who actually looks like he can be the best RB in the country in due time. He was FSU’s best RB last week in the win over Alabama, and backed it up with a pretty good showing this week. Kromah didn’t lead the team in anything, and he wasn’t the best at his position, but when his number was called, he produced. Kromah finished with 37 rushing yards on five carries, and was an absolute unit when it came to finishing through tackles. Other young guys like Micahi Danzy showed out, too, as he had a carry for 53 yards that led to a touchdown.
This team has some young guys that are showing this will not be a program that goes anywhere anytime Sooners. They were 2-10 last year, but the young guys they have now are a big reason they are 2-0 through two weeks.
