Super Bowl Chiefs vs Eagles

Former Florida Gators head coach Steve Spurrier made his prediction this week for the Super Bowl LIX showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles that will take place on Sunday evening in New Orleans.

Spurrier, however, didn't sound all that confident in his prediction.

The head ball coach is going with the Eagles to beat the Chiefs, though he admitted that if the game is close, he might change his pick to Kansas City.

"I don't know who's going to win," said Spurrier with a laugh on Another Dooley Noted Podcast. "But I like Philly's chances because Saquon Barkley can run the ball. And they can block. I think their line of scrimmage is a little bit better than Kansas City's. Now, Kansas City knows how to win. If it's a close game, you might say, 'hey we gotta go with Kansas City'. But maybe Philly, if they play like they did when they played the Washington Commanders, I mean, Barkley ran for 180 and something. And their defense was really good also. So, I'm gonna go with Philly. But it wouldn't surprise me if Kansas City pulls it off."

I think Spurrier is pretty spot on there. The Eagles have a great team and Barkley is one of the true difference makers in the NFL — he's a threat to score every time the ball touches his hands.

But at the same time, it's awfully tough to pick against the Chiefs. As Spurrier noted, Kansas City knows how to win. And they especially know how to win in the post-season.

It should be a fun Super Bowl. And hopefully for fans, it's a close Super Bowl that goes down to the final seconds.
