Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Smael Mondon is off to the NFL after spending four seasons in Athens.

Mondon, a former five-star recruit who signed with Georgia during the 2021 recruiting cycle, is expected to be drafted in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Dallas, GA native joined The Players Lounge this week for a conversation with former Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray and he was asked to sum up his four years at Georgia.

Mondon was quick to point out that he left Georgia as a better person and a better player.

"Man, them four years meant everything," said Mondon. "It was probably — well not probably, it was definitely the best four years of my life, so far at least. It meant a lot. I went to Georgia and I grew up. I left a better person. I left a better football player for sure. The G means a lot to me. Especially the fans, too.

"Just seeing the support we had [from the fans] week in and week out. And being able to compare that to other schools, you see it's a drop off, it's not the same. I know other schools have good fans too, but just me being at Georgia and seeing that support, and being from Georgia too, they were crazy. The fans were definitely a big part of that experience and why it was some of the best four years of my life."

Mondon, who also noted that his favorite memory at Georgia was the win against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2022 College Football Playoff, finished his career at UGA with 212 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and one interception.

The 6-foot-3 linebacker also won two national championships with the Bulldogs.
