The Georgia Bulldogs are among the programs hoping to land 2026 five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
Curtis, 6-foot-4/225 lbs from Nashville, TN, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. He was committed to Georgia from March 2024 to October 2024.
The Oregon Ducks are viewed by some folks as the current leader for Curtis, but the Bulldogs are very much in the mix. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if Georgia ultimately wins this recruiting battle.
Kirby Smart and his staff, however, know they need a backup plan in case Curtis lands elsewhere.
According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, Georgia's "contingency plan" in case they miss out on Curtis involves a couple of 2026 quarterbacks that are already committed to other programs.
"Kirby Smart and company will look for a flip of their own if they miss out on Curtis," wrote Wiltfong. "The Bulldogs have offered Texas quarterback commit Dia Bell and Oklahoma pledge Jaden O’Neal. O’Neal could be an interesting one to keep an eye on."
Wiltfong also noted that 2026 four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth is high on Georgia.
Bell seems to be solidly committed to Texas. O'Neal, however, could end up flipping from Oklahoma depending on how the rest of the recruiting cycle plays out.
"If (Bowe) Bentley chooses OU, I think we would see movement with four-star Jaden O’Neal," reported Wiltfong. "He’s keeping Georgia, Florida State, Auburn, Arizona, and Mississippi State warm."
It's easy to see why recruiting quarterbacks keeps head coaches up at night. There are still a lot of dominoes that need to fall before Georgia knows which quarterback they'll be signing in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
Curtis is obviously the Bulldogs' top target, but Georgia has some solid fallback options in case they miss out on the Nashville native.
