Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart isn't leaving Athens anytime soon.

According to The Athletic's Seth Emerson, Georgia has given Smart a two-year extension which includes a $1.75 million raise, plus up to $1.55 million in bonuses.

The deal keeps him in Georgia through December 2033.

And his new $13 million annually makes him college football's highest-paid coach.

A Smart Move by Georgia

Smart, 48, has done a lot for Georgia football since he was named head coach back in December of 2015.

Over the last eight seasons, Smart has led the Bulldogs to back-to-back college football championship wins, seven straight New Year's Six Bowls, two SEC championships, and six SEC Eastern Division titles for an overall 94-16 record in 110 games.

And as if that weren't enough, Smart has also produced 63 NFL draft picks — the most of any coach in college football history.

"I continue to be grateful and humbled by our administration's commitment to our football program," Smart said in an official statement. "The current culture in collegiate athletics is everchanging and as challenging as it has ever been, so I truly appreciate the leadership that our team is continually provided. I have an immense pride for representing my alma mater and look forward to that relationship continuing for many years to come."

In addition to locking in Smart, Georgia also signed athletic director Josh Brooks to a one-year extension which keeps him tied to the University through 2030.
