The LSU Tigers hosted one of the top 2027 recruits in the nation this past weekend.

2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson made his way to Baton Rouge for an important recruiting visit over the weekend, and it reportedly went quite well.

Dobson, 6-1, 175 pounds from Cornelius, NC, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 cornerback in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina. He’s also rated as the No. 3 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

The Tennessee Vols and Texas A&M Aggies, among others, are also in the mix for the five-star recruit.

Joshua Dobson leaves no doubt how he feels about LSU

Dobson spoke to On3 about his visit to LSU, and he left nothing to the imagination regarding his feelings on the Tigers.

“The weekend was amazing…they’ve got something special going on, and I can’t wait to get back in the spring,” said Dobson to On3.

Dobson also pointed out that he connected well with LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond.

Raymond and Tigers defensive coordinator Blake Blake also recently visited Dobson in North Carolina.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong noted that LSU is one of the clear frontrunners for Dobson. There’s still a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but it certainly feels like LSU could be the team to beat for the dynamic defensive back.
