Former LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow didn’t have much to say on Wednesday when asked about Lane Kiffin’s decision to leave Oxford for Baton Rouge.

Burrow, who played at LSU in 2018 and 2019 after starting his career at Ohio State, wasn’t recruited by Kiffin as a high school player, which means the two likely have connected on a personal level.

“Umm, I think he’s a good coach,” said Burrow. “I guess we’ll see how it goes. Those are my thoughts.”

Burrow was also asked about Kiffin leaving Ole Miss before the College Football Playoff.

“It’s certainly not an ideal situation for a playoff run, that’s for sure,” said Burrow.

Honestly, it sounds like Burrow wasn’t too dialed in to the chaos surrounding LSU’s pursuit of Kiffin. And that’s understandable — Burrow just returned from injury and he’s getting prepared for the Cincinnati Bengals’ big game against the Buffalo Bills this weekend.

I’m sure Burrow and Kiffin, though, will connect at some point this offseason.
