Albert Simien, a dominant force in the trenches out of Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is quickly becoming one of the most coveted prospects in the 2027 recruiting class. The four-star offensive lineman — ranked as the No. 1 interior OL in the country — is drawing serious attention from powerhouse programs across the nation.

Simien made headlines with a recent visit to Baton Rouge during LSU’s Week 4 win over Southeastern Louisiana. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound junior has already stacked offers from elite programs including Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and of course, LSU. But it’s the Tigers who are making a strong early impression.

Just days ago, Simien was back on the road — this time heading west to College Station for Texas A&M’s clash with Auburn. The Louisiana native came away impressed, saying “something sparked” during his time with the Aggies. Still, LSU remains firmly in the mix.

LSU may be chasing Texas A&M now for top-ranked recruit

Simien is expected to return to Baton Rouge for LSU’s upcoming showdown against Texas A&M, marking yet another visit this year. The Tigers have made Simien a top priority, and their consistent pursuit is positioning them as a serious contender for the state’s No. 1 overall prospect.

“It was great,” Simien told On3 following a recent trip to Baton Rouge. “Getting to talk with the offensive line coaches one-on-one and getting to learn more about The Path of LSU football and the importance of balancing academics and athletics for success.”

Simien’s fall schedule has also included a trip to Nebraska, as his recruitment continues to heat up heading into the heart of his junior season.

With LSU set to face South Carolina on Oct. 11 following a Week 6 bye, all eyes will be on how the Tigers continue to court one of Louisiana’s brightest stars.
