LSU HC Lane Kiffin takes another subtle jab at Ole Miss with comment on recent home crowd controversy
He’s still poking fun at his former team a bit.
Lane Kiffin is stirring the pot once again. The LSU Tigers football coach doesn’t shy away from some fun on social media, and his latest comments are tied to support for the Ole Miss Rebels women’s basketball team.
Lane Kiffin believes Ole Miss crowd will show up to root against LSU women’s basketball
After some recent push from Ole Miss WBK coach Yolett McCuin, Lane Kiffin saw an opportunity to do some trolling.
Major shocker, right? He suggested that Rebel fans will show up in troves because OM is playing against the seventh-ranked Tigers. He certainly thinks Ole Miss fans still have him in mind. Check out Kiffin’s post below.
“Don’t worry it will be #justdifferent tonight @YolettMcCuin They will show up for @LSUwbkb game ?” — Kiffin via social media
McCuin’s comments created some buzz on social media, as she was clearly a bit frustrated with the fan support for her team that had just beaten the Tennessee Lady Vols in Oxford. She’s hoping to see more support for their team, ranked in the top 20 nationally.
“We had a good amount of fans tonight, I was expecting a little bit more, I’m going to be completely honest — we need more support,” McPhee-McCuin said postgame, via On3’s Ole Miss Spirit‘s Brad Logan. “I don’t understand the reason we’re not getting it, but I know we need it. … We need you. We’re going to need you on Thursday when we go up against No. 7 LSU, who had a chance to go to Mardi Gras tonight while we fought for 40 minutes. So, the only thing that’s going to help us get through that game is the crowd support. Because it matters.” — On3.com
Will Ole Miss faithful make a massive effort to show up and cheer against Kiffin’s new school? It’s unlikely Kiffin shows up to the Rebels home game against his Tigers.
LSU takes on Ole Miss at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN. The Tigers are favored by 11.5 points as of now.
