The LSU Tigers could be on the verge of landing a big time recruit.

On Monday, On3’s Sam Spiegelman predicted that LSU will land 2027 five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, who is the son of former Tigers basketball player Antonio Hudson.

Hudson, 6-foot-6/239 pounds from Ruston, LA, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 tight end in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana. He’s also rated as the No. 11 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

Spiegelman noted that Nebraska is the biggest threat to LSU in the battle for Hudson.

“No. 1 TE Ahmad Hudson is an LSU legacy with visits slated back to Baton Rouge this weekend (March 21) and back to Nebraska next (March 28),” wrote Spiegelman. “Texas A&M is a third contender right in the mix for the 5-star multi-sport standout. The Huskers have garnered significant praise from Hudson and have not skipped a beat in his recruitment to date. The Tigers have continued to close the gap with the priority target behind the scenes, and the arrow is pointing up ahead of his family’s visit back to Baton Rouge this Saturday. Hudson’s father played for the LSU men’s hoops team and he’s seeking to play both sports in college. LSU also recently extended an offer to Ahmad’s little brother, 2030 ATH Branson Hudson. My RPM has been on the Tigers for months and I still feel great long-term about that landing.”

It would be quite a surprise if another team swoops in and steals Hudson from LSU.
