The LSU Tigers will be without superstar linebacker Harold Perkins for the rest of the 2024 season. 247 Sports' Matt Zenitz reported that Perkins is believed to have suffered a torn ACL.
It's a brutal blow for a Tigers team that has aspirations to make the College Football Playoff. After starting 3-1, including 1-0 in the SEC after beating South Carolina in week three. The defense seemed to have taken a small step forward over the last six quarters having allowed just 26 points.
Perkins is an interesting player. Rather small being listed at 6-1" and 225 lbs, Perkins has been used all over the place. From edge rusher to off ball linebacker and even playing STAR, the Tigers tried everything to maximize his abilities as a player. They were still trying to figure that out when he got injured against the Bruins.
The Tigers will have to move forward without Perkins, who may have played his final collegiate game with the NFL Draft looming.
