The LSU Tigers and Brian Kelly have been on the recruiting trail nonstop this offseason already. The Tigers currently still hold the number one spot in the team Transfer Portal rankings thanks to the hard work of the recruiting staff in December and early January. Now they're on to full scale intense high school football recruiting, and the early results are looking good.

Just this week the LSU Tigers got some excellent news on one elite offensive recruit that could certainly help rebuild the trenches around whoever replaces Garrett Nussmeier at quarterback in 2026. LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis visited with top tier four star offensive line recruit Zaden Krempin from Prosper, Texas.

Shortly after that visit it was confirmed by Steve Wiltfong of On3 (among other sources) that Krempin is set to take an official visit with LSU in late May. That's great news, as it was looking like LSU joined his recruitment a little too late until recently.

Zaden Krempin has been quickly rising over the past year as one of the premier talents at offensive line in the entire country. As of this writing he is widely considered a Top 200 overall recruit and could continue to rise if he continues to fill out his impressive 6'5", 270-pound frame with plenty of length and strength already.

It won't be easy for LSU to seal the deal with Krempin as he has been heavily pursued by a handful of other programs already, but it's great to see that the Tigers will be getting an official visit. SMU and Michigan already have June 2025 visits confirmed while Texas likely gets one too. He took another unofficial to Texas over the weekend as a part of their Junior Day, so we may get the Texas official date announcement shortly.

The LSU Tigers are already on track for another Top 10 overall recruiting class in 2026 with six early commits. The heavy emphasis in the earliest stages of the 2026 cycle has all been on filling out the trenches. Brian Kelly and the Tigers already have two elite defensive line recruits and one top notch interior offensive lineman among their freshman commits for next year.

Krempin would be their fourth trenches recruit acquisition if they can land his commitment too. It might be a tough road to beat out SMU, Michigan, Texas, as well as a few other SEC schools still in it like Oklahoma and Texas A&M, but the momentum is shifting in the right direction.
