The LSU Tigers are getting stronger day by day. Brian Kelly's team may get back one of their most talented defenders after he dealt with injury a season ago.

Latest on LSU star LB Harold Perkins

LSU linebacker is making his way back from a torn ACL he suffered last season. Based on a video of him making its way around social media, Perkins looks like he's getting healthier. He is moving well, and that's big for the Tigers.

Perkins is active and back on the field doing non-contact drills. He's ready to continue ramping up this summer.

The former five-star projects to be a massive piece for the LSU defense this season.

LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker officially revealed this offseason that Perkins will play the STAR role for the Tigers, which will give him a hybrid linebacker/safety look.

That's a unit that simply could not find consistent footing in 2024. If Perkins is back and at full strength, that will be a big step in a better, more fluid product on that side of the ball for the Tigers. The offense is one of the most talented units in all of college football, let alone just the SEC.

Brian Kelly remains confident and excited in Perkins' upside. He appreciates his versatility and thinks he is a phenomenal athlete. It is tough to argue that concept, based on Perkins' performances as a Tiger when healthy.

We will see if the defense can make a jump this season, too. If that happens and Perkins play a major role, it is easy to see a way that LSU finds their way back into the College Football Playoff in 2025.
