The recruiting trail simply never ceases. For the LSU Tigers, they just landed a commitment from ac couple of notable recruits that could make an impact early and often for Brian Kelly's team.
LSU lands five-star athlete in 2026 class
According to Hayes Fawcett, Brian Kelly's program has earned the commitment of five-star athlete Lamar Brown. He is ranked as the top athlete in the 2026 HS recurring class, via Rivals.
The five-star from Louisiana is the latest addition to one of the top recruiting classes in the sport for 2026. The Tigers have dominated in recent weeks to land some big-time names, and a visit in late June from Brown went a long way for Brian Kelly and his staff.
Brown later rescheduled the official visit with the Tigers from June 20-22, a weekend that ultimately swayed his decision to stay close to home and to join as the second five-star pledge in LSU's 2026 class.
Brown stands among 10 ESPN 300 recruits committed to LSU in the cycle. He settles in alongside defensive end Trenton Henderson (No. 61 overall) and defensive tackle Richard Anderson (No. 93), leading a defensive class that also includes pledges from safety Aiden Hall (No. 126) and cornerbacks Havon Finney Jr. (No. 72) and Dylan Purter (No. 223).

DeAnthony Lafayette commits to Tigers
Also via Hayes Fawcett, LSU has landed the commitment of 2026 EDGE DeAnthony Lafayette. He chose the Tigers over Oklahoma and Miami.
The defensive line future for the Bayou Bengals continues to look incredible. This latest addition in Lafayette only provides even more depth in the class off the edge, and there's legitimate upside on the DL in the 2026 class, too.
After a breakout junior campaign, in which Lafayette notched 17.5 sacks and more than 40 quarterback pressures, he starred in the offseason camp circuit in addition to registering a top-10 finish in discus at the state track meet. — On3.com
Lafayette's pass rush prowess is what has made him so intriguing for multiple big-time programs. LSU took notice of that and have been hard in pursuit of him in recent months.
