Lane Kiffin continues to work the transfer portal for the LSU Tigers. After a couple of recent additions becoming public later in the weekend, Monday was another day of production on that front. Another wide receiver is in the boat to join Kiffin in Baton Rouge, with potentially more to come.

LSU lands ODU transfer WR Tre Brown over other top programs

According to Hayes Fawcett, the Tigers have landed a commitment from Old Dominion WR Tre Brown. The downfield threat and impressive athlete will immediately make an impact for Lane Kiffin’s offense.

Brown has a slender build, listed at 180 pounds with a 6’2 frame. He was ranked as a top 25 wideout in the transfer portal, according to On3. Brown totaled 38 receptions for 762 yards and four touchdowns this season for Old Dominion. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

“Brown played in and started all 13 games this past season for Old Dominion. Nobody on the roster produced more than him, going for 762 yards and four touchdowns on 38 catches. A 20.1 yards per reception was the most in the Sun Belt and No. 7 at the national level.” — On3.com

At the time of this announcement, this is now four commitments from the transfer portal for LSU since it opened. Expect that to rise quickly, too. All of those players are offensive additions so far, and that shouldn’t really surprise many people. The Tigers have had a huge focus on retention for their defensive playmakers – while pushing a lot of portal focus to Kiffin’s side of the football.

Brown was reportedly set to visit Ohio State on Tuesday, but that did not occur, clearly. Instead, Kiffin and the Tigers were able to earn his commitment before he ventured to another big name program this week. That’s a big win for the new staff in purple and gold.

LSU replacing wide receivers leaving for the NFL

LSU WR Zavion Thomas announced his intentions to enter the 2026 NFL Draft this weekend. He’s going pro. Fellow Tigers wideout Aaron Anderson already declared for the draft in December as well. The position had become one that needed help both in the starting lineup and in the depth department for 2026.
