Dakorien Moore is likely the single most important wide receiver recruit in the 2025 class. Not only is he an elite talent, but he's an elite talent with great ties and relationships to all of the best offensive recruits in the nation. Where he goes many will want to follow.
In fact, he made it clear at the On3 Elite Series event just a couple weeks ago that he and other elite wide receiver recruits Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench have consistently talked about joining forces, playing somewhere together. If a school lands Moore, they might get a surefire first round talent, plus a few of his friends too.
That is amazing news for LSU. Yes, the Tigers just saw Moore decommit this spring, leading to widespread speculation that the recruiting apparatus in Baton Rouge might be cracking at the foundation. And since then Moore has visited with Oregon, Ohio state, and Texas in some capacity. However, after his visit to LSU this weekend, Moore made it clear that the Tigers are back in the picture!
Apparently Moore's visit with LSU "showed a lot" to him that renewed his confidence in potentially joining the program. Moore also reportedly had a meaningful conversation with Ja'Marr Chase ahead of his visit that likely didn't hurt LSU's chances either.
Moore's relationship and respect for Chase (among other LSU greats) has been something that the young five star has brought up on multiple occasions throughout his recruiting journey. This spring he was quoted as saying:
"[LSU]'s Wide Receiver U. Everybody knows that. Odell Beckham, Ja'Marr [Chase], [Justin Jefferson], the best wide receivers in the [NFL] right now came from that place and I want to be a part of it."
With a fresh and positive experience at LSU, Tigers fans should have their hope renewed that they may just snag the best wide receiver in the country after all. If Brian Kelly actually pulls that off, along with signing the number one overall player in the country with Bryce Underwood and running back Harlem Berry (both already committed), that would be incredible.
Moore is still set to make official visits to both Texas and Oregon in the next two weeks though. We'll be back with more on the most intense wide receiver recruiting battle in the nation here soon.
