Brian Kelly and the LSU just wrapped up a massive recruiting weekend with over a dozen important recruits on-site. Some were already committed to LSU. Others haven't committed anywhere just yet, but are nearing their decision. And one high pedigree star looks like a prime flip candidate.

The entire month of June will be important for LSU recruiting, but this weekend might have been the single most important set of visits for the entire cycle. Let's dive into a few of the top flip and possible commit candidates who were just on campus.

Top LSU Flip Candidate

Solomon Thomas, 5 Star Offensive Lineman

Solomon Thomas was one of several top tier recruits who participated in the most important LSU group recruiting visit of the year (as you can see in Shea Dixon's post below). Thomas has been committed to Florida State since December, but did not hide his intentions to keep his recruitment open heading into this summer.

Thomas already visited LSU this spring and came in reportedly wanting to know how coach Kelly and the Tigers were planning on using him. He apparently got some decent answers. Given how stacked the LSU offensive line is, if hype continues to build for at least both of the offensive tackles to be drafted round one Thomas could certainly flip here soon.

Potentially Near LSU Commit

DJ Pickett, 5 Star Cornerback

We've spent significant time here at A to Z Sports talking about DJ Pickett this spring as his recruiting battle has become one of the most fierce in the nation. Pickett could seriously land with any one of LSU, Miami, Georgia, or Oregon based on his final visits schedule this month, but the Tigers went all in this past weekend.

Corey Raymond, the defensive backs coach, brought in a special weapon to help recruit the corners visiting Baton Rouge this weekend in Patrick Peterson, one of the best corners to ever do it.

While Pickett was just quoted as calling Georgia "the new Alabama" this week at the On3 Elite Series, it's pretty clear he's still firmly in the mix for LSU. Steve Wiltfong actually reported that Pickett's family knows Patrick Peterson well too. That relationship certainly doesn't hurt the Tigers' chances.

Dorian Brew, 5 Star Cornerback

Many believed Dorian Brew was locked in to commit to Ohio State in January, but that didn't come to fruition. The lanky speedster defensive back may still end up with the Buckeyes, but he has specific family ties to LSU too.

Both his father and mother were elite college sprinters (his dad at LSU, mom at Ohio State). His father actually went on to win multiple medals in the Olympics. Brew still has his visits to Texas, USC, and Oregon coming up too, but LSU should still be right there until the end of the recruiting battle.

Kaliq Lockett, 5 Star Wide Receiver

Coming off the On3 Elite Series this past week many experts believed Lockett was a likely Texas lean, but he and Jaime Ffrench may come as a package deal if Cortez Hankton (the LSU wide receivers coach) can pull the strings just right.

Lockett and fellow five stars Ffrench and Dakorien Moore have discussed the possibility of all playing together for quite some time now. If Moore goes to Ohio State or Texas, Lockett may try and follow given their ties go back to middle school. but if he can't be with Moore then Ffrench would be a nice consolation. Plus, it can't hurt that LSU did just send two wide receivers to the first round of the NFL Draft.

Jaime Ffrench, 5 Star Wide Receiver

Ffrench is has been "looking at LSU for a long time" and apparently already had the Tigers inside his top three coming into the weekend behind only Texas. Ffrench may be tough to pull away from the Longhorns, but again, if they can pull Lockett that might be the trick snag them both. Ffrench is already technically advanced with his game, so he could hit the ground running early for LSU if he commits.

Damien Shanklin, 4 Star Edge Defender

Multiple experts have begun predicting that Damien Shanklin will commit to LSU coming off the big visit weekend, which is great news for LSU fans.

Shanklin is already built like an NFL defensive end and brings with him elite level strength and size-adjusted burst that is tough to recreate. "Everything was great about the visit" for Shanklin this weekend, and he would fill an immediate need off the edge for Brian Kelly and the Tigers.

Dasaahn Brame, 4 Star Tight End

It might be tough to pull Dasaahn Brame, considering all the time he's spent with Oklahoma, Oregon, and recently even Tennessee, but LSU made it into his final few official visits. Brame would be a huge get as a consensus top five tight end in the class, but it will be tough to pull off his recruitment. He was offered quite late, so the relationship isn't incredibly deep. But still, it's incredibly notable he was on campus alongside so many other pivotal pieces for LSU's 2025 recruiting class.
