The Miami Hurricanes have been getting healthy at the right time after some tough mid-season roster losses. Among those losses were three important players in WR CJ Daniels, OJ Frederique, and DT Ahmad Moten.

Towards the end of the season, the Hurricanes have gotten healthier, and that’s coincided with the Hurricanes rolling through their final four games and making the College Football Playoff.

Things could be about to get even better for Miami on the health front on Saturday against the Texas A&M Aggies. Starting nickel cornerback Keionte Scott appears to be in play to return from injury and face the Aggies, per Mario Cristobal this week.

Mario Cristobal says “I feel strongly” about Miami CB Keionte Scott’s chance of playing against of Texas A&M

“I do,” Cristobal said about whether he thinks Scott could play against the Aggie. “I do. In fact, I feel strongly about it.”

Scott has been one of the best defensive backs in the nation this season for Miami. A transfer after the 2024 season from Auburn, Scott has been a blanket in the middle in coverage, and he’s provided a steady pass rush off the edge when his number has been called.

Scott has earned a Pro Football Focus grade of 90.3 and a coverage mark of 87.8 with an interception, four passes defended, and an opposing passer rating of just 66.7. He also has three sacks and 14 QB pressures this season. He was named as a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist. However, an injury against Syracuse took him out of action through the rest of the regular season.

We’ll see how things go this week in practice, but if Miami can get him back, then the task of slowing down Marcel Reed and a terrific Texas A&M offense would get a significant boost.
