The Miami Hurricanes' 36-14 win over the Florida State Seminoles last weekend made Cane fans across the country very happy.  However, there weren't many who got to enjoy it more than former Canes All-American safety Kam Kinchens.

The Los Angeles Rams defender was able to cash in a bet with a couple of his current Rams teammates and former FSU stars Jared Verse and Keir Thomas this week, forcing them to don Miami Hurricanes gear as part of their bet on the game.

It's also worth noting that Florida State has a third player on the team – DE Braden Fiske – but he either didn't get in on the bet (a smart move, given Florida State's catastrophic season) or was wise enough to avoid getting photographed and included in the montage.

It had been a rough stretch for the Canes against their intrastate rivals since the former's 52-10 win in 2020.  Miami lost two close calls in Tallahassee sandwiched around a 45-3 embarrassment in Mario Cristobal's first swing at the Noles as head coach in 2022. Unfortunately, Kinchens was on the field for all three of those games.

However, the worm has turned in 2024, with Miami in the top five and Florida State – who started the season at #5 – now at 1-7 and out of bowl contention.  In that vein, you have to respect the willingness of Verse and Thomas to go along with the bet this season.

Canes fans hope it's the first of many times Kinchens gets the better of his teammates in this rivalry.
