Better late than never, they say.  And that goes for the college football recruiting world, as well.

Two of the Miami Hurricanes' 2025 signees received major bumps by 247 Sports in their final ranking updates for the season.

Hayden Lowe moved up to a 5 star. He had a dominating senior season for Oaks Christian in 2024, racking up 16 sacks and 18 tackles for losses.  He had previously committed to USC in June, but backed off that and later committed to Miami in November.  He is Miami's highest ranked player in the class at the #2 edge rusher and #16 overall player.

Someone who wasn't very highly ranked despite a world of accolades is QB Luke Nickel.  All Nickel did was lead his team to the Georgia state title while earning Mr. Football and Max Prep Georgia player of the year honors.

Nickel, who was an Elite 11 finalist over the summer, completed 67.9% of his passes for 3744 yards and 44 touchdowns to 7 interceptions, adding 300 yards and 6 more scores on the ground.

That finally appeared to move the needle with 247 Sports, as Nickel finished as a four-star recruit and moved up inside the company's top 247 recruits – albeit at number 247.

With Carson Beck in town and being paid handsomely, Nickel will be competing for the backup role in 2025.  However, it could be a quick path for him to the field thereafter, given his winning background.

We'll find out if this duo can live up to their hype quickly once fall camp gets underway in August.
