Mario Cristobal knows a thing or two about elite offensive line play.  As a player with the Miami Hurricanes, he was a part of two national championship teams in 1989 and 1991.

Now, he's looking to continue building the Canes from the inside out as their head coach, and he's taking a big swing at one of the biggest names in the 2026 recruiting class to do it.

Nixa, Missouri five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell announced on Wednesday his visits this spring to three schools, and Miami is among them.  Cantwell will visit the Canes on March 17-18, followed by trips to Ohio State and Michigan.

Cantwell is about as big of a name as it gets for the Canes, or any program, really.  He's the consensus #1 offensive tackle prospect in the country and top five overall player in every database.  On3 Sports lists Cantwell as the #1 overall player in its industry rankings.

Getting Cantwell on campus for the spring is a big deal for Miami.  They recently made his top six schools, which includes Miami, Ohio State and Michigan as well as Georgia, Oregon, and Missouri.  Miami did well last fall getting Cantwell in town for a game weekend, and a good one, as he was in attendance when the Canes throttled Duke 55-31 back on November 2.

The next step will be securing an official visit over the summer, but being one of three schools to get him in for the spring will only help their chances of potentially landing a player who could help Miami's offensive line take another step to a championship-level unit.

Something Cristobal certainly can relate to himself.
