The Miami Hurricanes took advantage of the Clemson’s struggles this 2025 season by securing the pledge of a recent decommitment from the Tigers on Wednesday night. According to one recruiting expert, Mario Cristobal could be on the verge of doing it again.

One day after four-star DL Keshawn Stancil committed to the Canes, On3 Sports/Rivals recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for Miami to land Fairburn, GA four-star safety Blake Stewart, who de-committed from Clemson on Monday.

Miami could be set to land a second straight four-star recruit and former Clemson commit

Stancil announced he was flipping his pledge to the Hurricanes on Wednesday night on Twitter/X, and the pickup is a big one for Cristobal.

The 6’3″, 260-pound lineman ranks as the #150 overall player for 2026 in Rivals’ industry rankings as well as the #15 defensive lineman and #10 player in the state of North Carolina. Miami was considered to be the runner up to Clemson when Stancil pulled the trigger in favor of the Tigers back in June, so his flip to them isn’t a surprise in that regard.

However, the crumbling of Clemson’s class and Miami benefitting quickly is notable, and Stewart very well could become the latest to make that switch very soon. Stewart is the #353 overall player, #35 safety, and #45 player in Georgia for the 2025 cycle. However, he holds a number of offers from other notable programs, including Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, Indiana, Auburn, Georgia Tech, UNC, and several others.

Stancil’s addition pushed Miami’s 2026 team recruiting class up to #11 nationally in the On3/Rivals rankings, with him becoming the fifth-highest ranked player in the class. Adding Stewart would give Miami 18 four stars and potentially push them into the top 10.

We’ll find out in the coming days if Cristobal and his staff can close the deal.
