This week has been quite the time online for college football. Earlier in the week, we watched Illinois HC Brett Bielema take a tough shot at former Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh pointing at him to be a liar.

Bielema quoted a video from Harbaugh with the 49ers where he was speaking on doing things the right way and being “above cheating”. As we all know this week, the NCAA handed down more information on the Connor Stallions cheating scandal.

Following the shots taken by Bielema, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum is siding with the Illinois head coach, while taking his own shot at the former Michigan head coach.

“I’ve always liked Bret,” Finebaum said on The Paul Finebaum Show Wednesday. “He was fun when we were together. But he is right. [Jim] Harbaugh is just a disingenuous fraud about all the things he used to say. He didn’t want to face the music. By the way, Michigan didn’t really want him to stay.”

Harbaugh jumped ship to go back to the NFL after Michigan captured a National Championship last season. Harbaugh got the big win and then landed a large contract to become the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Michigan is expected to push back on the new Notice of Allegations that they received from the NCAA. However, it seems like we are getting closer to a resolution for this all.

The Wolverines were 8-5 this season and took a 21-7 loss on the chin to the Illini of Illinois. A better season on the field would perhaps have noises off the field quieter, but Michigan took a big step back in 2024. Sherrone Moore will hope to carry over the success they had to finish the season with wins over Ohio State and Alabama into 2025.
