The Michigan Wolverines have long been an established NFL pipeline, especially recently, with 45 selections over the last five NFL Drafts. However, they have never achieved something quite like what unfolded in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Michigan had three players selected in the first 13 picks of an NFL draft, with defensive tackle Mason Graham being selected fifth overall (Cleveland Browns), tight end Colston Loveland selected 10th overall (Chicago Bears), and finally, with defensive tackle Kenneth Grant being selected 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins.

Kenneth Grant's draft stock wavered week-to-week, as teams tried to figure out where they felt he was worth a selection and how his game translated to the league.

It turns out, drafting a mammoth athlete up front who dominated Big Ten competition and won a national championship is pretty popular, and the Dolphins sprinted that pick in.

General manager Chris Grier referred to Grant as a player who impacted multiple players outside of his role, and that's exactly what Grant did for the Wolverines. His presence opened things up for other players, forming a dynamic duo with Mason Graham, as well as players like Josaiah Stewart this season, and kept their linebackers clean to disrupt runs up front.

Miami needed the beef up front along their defensive line. They lost multiple players in free agency there and were razor-thin, something that can't happen for a team serious about making a playoff push in the AFC.

Grant is an already impressive run-stuffer who should take over as the nose tackle right away for the Dolphins, but he brings some intriguing upside as a pass rusher as well. Pairing Grant with last year's first-round pick in Chop Robinson gives the Dolphins an intriguing young tandem that can be their Batman & Robin on the defensive line.
