Sherrone Moore and his Michigan Wolverines staff have completely turned things around from their midseason losses and offensive woes of the 2024 college football season.

After losing four out of five games in October and early November, Michigan finished things off with a 50-6 win over Northwestern, a 13-10 victory over Ohio State in The Game, and a 19-13 bowl win over Alabama. Now, with yet another five star recruit signing to build around incoming five star quarterback Bryce Underwood 2025 and beyond looks bright for the Wolverines.

It had already looked like Michigan was going to pull off a huge recruiting victory, landing five star offensive tackle Ty Haywood for the last few weeks, but now it's official! Haywood made the announcement on the morning of National Signing Day that he would be joining Michigan after having previously committed to Alabama.

For those unfamiliar with Ty Haywood, he's been considered a consensus Top 50 player in the 2025 football recruiting class for the last year and a half. Why? He's a 6'5", nearly 300-pound monster of a man with excellent movement skills.

Fresh off of carrying his high school football team to the Texas state semifinals Haywood decommitted from Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson in early January. When that happened, Sherrone Moore and his staff pounced.

Haywood quickly took an official visit with the Wolverines just four days after dropping from Alabama's recruiting class and it seemed all but inevitable that he would be joining Michigan.

With the addition of Haywood, Michigan now has put together one of the greatest offensive line recruiting classes ever, especially in Michigan history. Haywood joins five star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola, four star Avery Gach, high three star Kaden Strayhorn, and two strong transfers in All-American Lawrence Hattar and Brady Norton.

The Michigan offensive line spent much of 2024 trying to figure themselves out, but with top tier recruits like this the 2025 unit (and well beyond that) should build quite the fortress around five star quarterback Bryce Underwood.

Sherrone Moore is making moves all the right moves to get Michigan back to national championship football. Let's hope this offensive line comes together to make it happen quickly.
