Sherrone Moore and his Michigan staff continue to push hard on the recruiting front this spring as they hope to build a monstrous roster around their new five star quarterback, Bryce Underwood here soon. This past week they hosted over a dozen impressive recruits and a handful of them could be complete game changers if they land with the Wolverines.

Critical Michigan Recruiting Visit Weekend

The impressive set of talents include some fast wide receivers, a potential quarterback of the future, and some truly elite defensive recruits too. Who are these players? Let's dive in.

The top tier crew of recruits who visited with Michigan this past week includes several players in both the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes (as you can see in the post below from EJ Holland).

Important Offensive Recruits

Yes, the primary focus of recruiting should be to build around five star Bryce Underwood, but every top recruiting apparatus is always building towards the future at the quarterback position too.

Five star quarterback Kavian Bryant, part of the 2027 recruiting class, was on-site with the Michigan Wolverines this week. The hype surrounding him has been building quickly this offseason since he's coming off back to back seasons of 40+ total touchdowns and phenomenal efficiency. Underwood may have prototype size for the NFL, but Kavian Bryant has incredible speed and arm talent too. He'll be an excellent sequel to Underwood if Michigan can land him.

CJ Sadler and Nalin Scott, two highly rated four star wide receiver recruits were in town as well.

Nalin Scott isn't as well known, but he's visited with Michigan already, and could be a wildcard addition despite significant interest in Georgia and Auburn too.

CJ Sadler already has an existing relationship with Bryce Underwood, and he offers more explosiveness to his game (compared to Scott). Sadler plays defensive back, returns kicks, throws touchdowns, and hauls in passes easily after creating a ton of separation for himself.

Both wide receivers should be huge priorities down the stretch among the 45+ players Michigan has offered at the position for the 2026 recruiting class, but Sadler should be priority number one given his versatility.

Leo Delaney, a four star offensive lineman who likely plays guard in college, has been visiting Michigan almost nonstop it seems since last summer. He's logged more points of contact with the Wolverines than any other school, and despite being from North Carolina looks like perhaps the safest bet to commit to Michigan of the entire bunch visiting last week. He'll return for a final official visit in June.

Important Defensive Recruits

There are a few important defensive recruits in the 2026 class that visited Michigan last week, but the two most talented players on defense were 2027 prospects.

Chris Whitehead and Recarder Kitchen (in-state recruit) are consensus top ten players in the country for the 2027 recruiting class and both project to be extremely dominant edge defenders. Kitchen had been a significant focus for quite some time already, but Michigan finally offered Whitehead on his visit as well.

Kitchen is a bit more "built" already at 6'6", 230+ pounds, and projects to have some significant versatility along the defensive front. Whitehead needs to bulk up a bit, but he's lightning quick and could be the team's next Josaiah Stewart with an unstoppable first step off the edge.

Kaiden Hall is the most important non-edge-rusher defensive recruit who visited with Michigan this past week. He's a top 100  ranked four star safety who already has several official visits set for the summer. However, this late unofficial with Michigan could mean a slight shift in his interests late in the process. He would be a potential instant impact addition that could be a punch in the gut to rivals like Penn State (firmly in on him right now) if Michigan can steal him away.

There were a handful of other top talents, but these were the most critical targets that Sherrone Moore and company should try and pursue this offseason. Hopefully the Maize and Blue can start closing more of these recruiting battles as they only have three commits for 2026 right now. Zero for 2027.
