Speculation runs rampant after sudden major recruiting departure for Michigan Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines hit a snag recruiting-wise on Friday morning when elite 2026 quarterback Brady Hart suddenly flipped his commitment from the Wolverines to the Texas A&M Aggies. In the process, Hart announced his decision to reclassify into the Class of 2025 as well. The timing of this one feels off to me. Not to […]

Michigan Wolverines suffer major off the field setback after talented recruit flips to SEC school
It couldn't be all sunshine and rainbows for the Michigan Wolverines after flipping elite five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood last week. They built up some terrific momentum with flipping multiple players over the last week, but that momentum hit a setback Friday morning with one talented flip. 2026 quarterback Brady Hart, who Michigan had invested heavily […]
The timing of this one feels off to me. Not to go full Brian Windhorst here, but I can't help but wonder why now?
Sure, Bryce Underwood's commitment was a surprise flip that, quite frankly, nobody saw coming. I wouldn't blame Hart for feeling disrespected and shunned to the side, as that's pretty much what happened. His decision to reclassify was likely known to the Michigan staff, as that just doesn't happen on a whim. Knowing this, they still decided to spend the millions it took to flip Underwood.
While that obviously wasn't a bad move by any stretch, it's certainly understandable why Hart would be upset with Michigan.
However, what if it means something more? The speculation surrounding the move has picked up steam this morning, and it could mean change on the horizon for the Wolverines.
Offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell was Hart's primary recruiter for months. Securing his commitment back in June offered many Michigan fans hope for the future in a dreadful season. Campbell saw Hart repeatedly, and just two weeks ago, both he and Sherrone Moore visited Hart. Everyone seemed in lockstep then.
Yet, Hart suddenly shifts just ahead of early signing day? That's a curious sign. Now, there's nothing to tie Campbell's future to the Wolverines. After a season full of baffling offensive moves that have culminated in the Wolverines boasting one of the worst offenses in the Big Ten, Campbell has been on the hot seat.
Could a potential change at OC have been the catalyst for Hart's flip? It definitely feels that way. The winds of change have been blowing in Ann Arbor for some time, and head coach Sherrone Moore could be moving on from both coordinators after just his first season in charge.
A win this weekend against bitter rival Ohio State could change that timeline, but this feels inevitable.
