The Michigan Wolverines may not have had the on-field success they had hoped for the 2024 college football season, but the program will be more represented than even the defending national champions in Round 1. With Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and Will Johnson expected to be first-rounders, the Wolverines will see the last key members of their own title team reach the NFL.
Colston Loveland has been the biggest question mark as to whether he'd make the first round. Despite bottoming out around the mid-20s in most expert mock drafts, it seemed possible the talented junior pass-catcher could fall come draft night.
But that's apparently not the case, despite Loveland coming off an injury-affected season and draft process.
According to ESPN insider Peter Schrager, Loveland is set to hear his name called earlier than most expected.
"Having spent the entire weekend on the phones, here are two names who'll go higher than where the consensus mock drafts have them going right now: 1. Mykel Williams EDGE 2. Colston Loveland TE," Schrager reported.
Loveland could be getting consideration from the Saints, Bears, Dolphins, and Colts if this is true. He'd been projected anywhere from the Colts to the Rams in previous mock drafts.
He played in 10 games in 2024, catching 56 passes for 582 yards and five touchdowns.
