The Texas A&M Aggies received some great recruiting news this week. 2026 Spring (Texas) Legacy the School of Sport Sciences wide receiver Mike Brown announced his commitment to the Aggies. They were able to best Texas, Alabama, and Michigan as part of a talented group of suitors.
Brown comes from a football family. The 5-11, 175-pound pass catcher is the son of Reggie Brown, who was a former Texas A&M linebacker. He was a first round selection in the 1996 NFL Draft. Brown’s brother also played for the Tulane Green Wave.
With Brown’s obvious connections to the Aggie program, Texas A&M clearly had the inside track. They still had to, however, outlast an offer list of over 40 programs. It was a monumental win for head coach Mike Elko, closing on one of the biggest risers in the 2026 recruiting class.
Adding impact receivers to this roster continues to be a huge priority for this program. Brown fits that initiative in a big way.
Brown is considered a four-star recruit by multiple major recruiting platforms. He is considered one of the biggest risers amongst the 2026 wide receiver class, currently rated as the No. 284 overall player, No. 46 wide receiver, and No. 35 player in Texas according to the On3 Industry ranking. The 247Sports Composite ranking has Brown rated as the No. 348 player in the class.
Despite a variance of opinions from a rankings perspective, Brown was not short of options. Some of the prominent offers for Brown include the Aggies, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Florida, Penn State, Auburn, Nebraska, Arizona State, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Washington, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Boston College, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Kansas, Houston, and Purdue among many others.
