FOX Sports national college football analyst Bruce Feldman isn’t afraid to make bold calls, and his latest November prediction has Ducks fans buzzing. When asked to share a few bold takes for the stretch run of the season, Feldman zeroed in on Oregon – and not in a flattering way.

“Oregon is #6 in the country, Dan Lanning is doing a great job there,” Feldman said. “But they have two really tough road games at Iowa and at Washington – you know how tough it is to play at Husky Stadium. I don’t think the Ducks are going to make the playoffs. That’s my bold prediction.”
Feldman went on to add that he believes Oregon will lose both of those upcoming road matchups, predicting setbacks against Iowa and Washington.

It’s undoubtedly a bold call – and one that underscores just how unforgiving Oregon’s path has become. The Ducks, sitting at 6th in the College Football Playoff rankings, have little room for error. With a grueling November slate that includes two top-tier road tests and a home game against USC, one loss might be survivable – but two would be fatal to their playoff hopes.

While Feldman’s skepticism isn’t baseless, it’s also not a death sentence. I think the Ducks are capable of winning at least one of those two away games. Dan Lanning’s team has the balance, depth, and experience to grind out a tough road win, even in hostile territory. Quarterback play remains steady, the defense has shown flashes of dominance, and the team’s resilience has been tested before.

Still, it’s fair to acknowledge that the national sentiment around Oregon has cooled in recent weeks. After being hailed as one of the most complete teams in college football early in the season, the Ducks have looked more vulnerable of late. Close wins and inconsistent offensive rhythm have opened the door for doubts – and analysts like Feldman are taking notice.

That said, this could be precisely what Oregon needs. Doubt has a way of sharpening focus, and few programs in the country respond to adversity quite like the Ducks. If Oregon can silence the noise and finish strong – especially with a statement win at either Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium or Washington’s Husky Stadium – it would reestablish them firmly in the playoff conversation.

So while Bruce Feldman’s prediction makes headlines, the Ducks still control their destiny. November has always been the month that defines contenders – and Oregon now has the perfect chance to prove that the national doubt is misplaced.

Because if there’s ever a time for the Ducks to wake up and make a statement, it’s now.
