The entire nation was curious about the future of UNLV's offense post-Matthew Sluka, particularly with Hajj-Malik Williams stepping in. The verdict is in: UNLV hasn't just managed without Sluka; they're thriving, perhaps even more so, with Williams leading the charge.

UNLV's offense was a force to be reckoned with. Hajj-Malik Williams, in his debut as starting quarterback, was exceptional. He completed 81.3% of his passes, throwing for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

He also added 119 yards on the ground, including a rushing touchdown. Williams showcased a level of accuracy that Sluka hadn't, making him a formidable successor.

Ricky White emerged as Williams' top target, catching 10 passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns. One of his scores resulted from a blocked punt, which he recovered and returned for a touchdown.

Additionally, Kaleb Ballungay scored his first touchdown of the season on a 17-yard reception, contributing to a commanding 28-0 lead.

The running game didn't miss a beat without Sluka, thanks partly to Williams' ground efforts. But the running backs shone as well. Kylin James broke free for a 53-yard run on one of his five attempts, boasting an average of 11.6 yards per carry.

Jai’den Thomas added a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and following a Fresno State score, he returned a kickoff 90 yards for another touchdown, widening the gap to 52-14.

UNLV's offense has not only adapted but improved without Sluka. With a more dynamic passing game and a robust running game, the offense was exhilarating to watch.

Ricky White's resurgence was a highlight, illustrating the impact of precise quarterback play. Sluka's departure, it seems, might have been a blessing in disguise.

Looking ahead, UNLV is set to face Syracuse Orange at home on Friday, October 4th, in a pivotal matchup that could determine their College Football Playoff prospects. With the defense and Williams continuing to excel, UNLV's impressive run may well extend throughout the season.
