Notre Dame football fans are going to get a flash from the past with some recent recruiting news. The Fighting Irish staff is expecting a visit soon from 2028 Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy quarterback Brady Quinn. Yes, you read that name correctly.
No, there is no relation to the former Notre Dame All-American quarterback of the same. Although, the Irish legend did invade that tweet to express his excitement for another Brady Quinn potentially wearing the blue and gold. On top of his stop in South Bend, Quinn will also be checking out Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, Tulane, Florida State, Ohio State, Indiana, and Purdue over the next few weeks.
Despite Quinn just finishing up his freshman season, he has already had a fair amount of interest from a recruiting perspective. He currently holds offers from Ole Miss, Nebraska, Louisville, Missouri, Syracuse, Maryland, Purdue, UCF, USF, and Toledo. The 6-1, 180-pound passer has the looks of a future star.
As a freshman, Quinn put together a tremendous first season. He threw for 2,549 and 33 touchdowns. He also added another rushing touchdown on the group while throwing just nine interceptions. That was super impressive for a player his age.
Most Notre Dame fans would want Quinn to end up in the 2028 recruiting class just based on his name. It would be pretty cool to see, and many would hope that he has as much success as the Quinn we all know and love. During his four seasons with the Irish, he threw for 11,762 yards and 95 touchdowns. Quinn has also rushed for another six scores on the ground.
Whether the 2028 version ends up with Notre Dame or not, the blast from the past was fun for a few days. There is a good chance this won't be the last time we will be hearing his name either. He is definitely one to watch.
