Notre Dame football is off to a fast start in terms of 2026 offensive line recruiting. The team currently holds commitments from Tyler Merrill, Ben Nichols, and Sullivan Garvin, which is an impressive three-man group. The Fighting Irish got some additional good news on Wednesday when Portage (Mich.) Northern offensive tackle Gregory Patrick announced his top four schools list.

It wasn’t overly surprising that Notre Dame made the top schools list for Patrick. They were joined by Michigan, Penn State, and Michigan State. If you have been following Patrick’s recruitment, then none of those other top schools should be overly surprising either.

Things have remained the same concerning Patrick and Notre Dame. If Joe Rudolph and the Irish staff choose to push for Patrick, their chances continue to be very high. They are the front runner right now.

On film, Patrick is a talented mover. He plays with some really surprising power despite being an undersized player at 6-4.5 and 275 pounds. The biggest question mark with Patrick is going to be whether he fits best at offensive tackle or inside at guard long term. That will determine whether Notre Dame pushes for him or not.

Patrick is considered a four-star recruit on every major recruiting platform. He ranks as the No. 174 overall player and No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. They also have him pegged as the No. 2 player from the state of Michigan.

Outside of Patrick’s finalists, he carries an impressive offer list. Some of the top programs who have offered him include Alabama, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisville, Kentucky, Washington, Indiana, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Minnesota, Baylor, Stanford, Illinois, and Purdue among others.
