How to watch Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. NC State Wolfpack: Will Marcus Freeman’s team dominate or is this a trap game?
The NC State Wolfpack travel to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. Here is how to watch, stream , and listen to the matchup.
After a 0-2 start to the 2025 college football season, including losses to Miami and Texas A&M, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have won three straight games. Head coach Marcus Freeman has injected some confidence into this Notre Dame squad, and they now rank as the No. 16 overall team in the country. As crazy as it sounds, the Irish very much still have a path toward the College Football Playoffs. Win out, and you are going to have a good chance in the end.
On Saturday, Notre Dame is going to welcome the NC State Wolfpack to South Bend. Dave Doeren’s squad heads into the game with a 4-2 record, but they are searching for their first big victory of the season. The two programs have only played four games in history, sitting with a 2-2 split series record. The last time the two teams played was back during the 2023 season. Notre Dame managed to win that game by a 45 to 24 margin.
Here is how you can watch the matchup between the Fighting Irish and Wolfpack this weekend. It promises to be a very interesting battle. It is too bad you can only watch it one way, the dreaded annual Peacock game.

The Notre Dame offense is built around running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, wanting to establish the run game early and let the rest of the offense flow off of it. From there, it is about redshirt freshman quarterback CJ Carr. He has a ton of great moments during his first five starts, and you should expect wide receivers Jordan Faison and Malachi Fields to be targeted early and often. The NC State defense has struggled both defending the run and pass so far, and that should continue on Saturday.
For the Irish defense, they will be challenged by sophomore quarterback CJ Bailey. A talented quarterback at 6-6 and 215 pounds, Bailey can be a headache for defensive coordinators to deal with, so Chris Ash will have to have a solid game plan for him. The same is true for star running back Hollywood Smothers. If the Wolfpack has a chance to keep this game close and potentially win in the end, it’ll be because Smothers was able to make a lot of big plays.
