Recruiting the cornerback position has become routine for Mike Mickens as a member of the Notre Dame program. He has been responsible for the development of Cam Hart, Benjamin Morrison, Leonard Moore, and Christian Gray over the years. That string of success doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
In the 2026 recruiting class, there are several talented cornerbacks on the board who have substantial interest in the Fighting Irish. That includes Towson (Md.) Loyola Blakefield star Khary Adams, who is one of the more gifted cover men in the entire class.
With spring and summer right around the corner, we are already getting close to the official visit season for the 2026 class. A long list of talented prospects from all over the country will be heading to South Bend over the next few months. That includes Adams, who will be taking his official visit on June 13-15 according to On3 recruiting analyst Chad Simmons.
Adams will also be taking visits to South Carolina (May 30-June 1), Penn State (June 6-8), and Oregon (June 20-22). Those are viewed as his finalists right now, and those visits will go a long way to determine who Adams ends up committing to this Summer.
Adams is considered a consensus four-star player by every major recruiting platform. 247Sports is highest on Adams, currently sitting as the No. 38 overall player and No. 2 cornerback in the 2026 recruiting class. He is also ranked as a top five player in the state of Maryland on every major platform, an area the Irish have been wanting to tap into more.
Notre Dame is high up the list for Adams, as is Oregon, Penn State, Auburn, and South Carolina. The Maryland native also holds offers from Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC, UNC, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, Minnesota, Rutgers, Arizona, and Boston College among others.
As a junior, Adams put together a tremendous season for the Loyola Blakefield Dons. The 6-2, 175-pound cornerback recorded 43 total tackles, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Adams was also a big producer on offense, hauling in 34 receptions for 562 yards and six touchdowns.
