One thing that Notre Dame needs to do a better job of is keeping top talent closer to him. We have seen too many kids they liked from Indiana or Chicago leave the home base in recent recruiting classes. The Irish staff hopes to remedy that in the 2027 recruiting class with Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North wide receiver Monshun Sales.

One of the top pass catchers in the 2027 class, Sales presents two areas of importance for Notre Dame. Not only is he a local player, but Sales is also at a position of high importance. Wide receiver recruiting needs to get a ton better, and has a chance to happen quickly with keeping this playmaker from leaving for other opportunities.

Sales has the look of an elite recruit in the 2027 recruiting class. He is already well-liked from a ranking perspective, currently sitting as the No. 40 overall player, No. 6 wide receiver, and No. 1 player in the state of Indiana on the 247Sports composite ranking. Obviously keeping the top player from your home state is vitally important.

The 6-5, 195-pound pass catcher has already demanded the attention of some of the top schools in all of college football. Some of Sales’ top offers so far include the Fighting Irish, Michigan, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Penn State, Missouri, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Louisville, Michigan State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue among others.

As a sophomore, Sales was a difference maker for arguably the top program in the state. In 11 games played, he hauled in 34 receptions for 568 yards and seven touchdowns. Sales is also a dominant blocker on the perimeter, which isn’t surprising based on his size.

So far, Mike Brown has extended very few 2027 wide receiver offers. Sales is one of the few exceptions, and for very good reason. He’s an impressive talent, and a must-get for the Irish in that cycle.
