Things have been trending very quickly between Notre Dame and 2026 Red Oak (Texas) High School wide receiver Brayden Robinson. A player that the Irish staff has liked for a while, Robinson made his first trip to South Bend on January 25th for Junior Day. By all accounts, things went great on that visit, and Notre Dame is a very real player for the Texas star.
Things went so well that Robinson has already set a return trip to Notre Dame, this time for an official visit. Robinson will be making that trip from June 20-22. He also scheduled two other official visits to Miami (June 6-8) and Ohio State (June 13-15). It is unknown if more official visits will be added but for now, the Fighting Irish could have the final pitch in this recruitment before a summer decision is made.
Robinson is coming off of a monster junior season with Red Oak, where Robinson ended up leading the team with 79 receptions for 1,119 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was also the top punt and kick returner for the team as a junior.
Despite being a smaller pass catcher at 5-8 and 160 pounds, Robinson has been pursued early on by a long list of notable football programs due to his big play ability. The Texas product holds offers from the Irish, Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Nebraska, and Penn State among many, many others.
247Sports has Robinson rated highly as the No. 205 overall player and No. 34 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. Their platform also has him pegged as the No. 32 overall player in Texas, a state that develops next level talent as well as anyone in the country. Robinson is ranked similarly on the 247Sports Composite ranking, pegged as the No. 211 overall player on that ranking.
Wide receiver Dylan Faison was a really nice early addition for the 2026 Notre Dame class to go along with star signal caller Noah Grubbs. Adding a player like Robinson down the line would be huge for the team. He is exactly the type of space talent that the program needs a lot more of as they continue to become more dynamic offensively.
If Texas Tech general manager James Blanchard does accept the position with Notre Dame, that is a positive sign to getting this commitment done. With his Texas roots, Robinson is a player that is very familiar with Blanchard. That could be a huge addition to the pitch.
