Notre Dame football is off to a fast start recruiting the offensive line position in the 2026 recruiting class. The program already holds commitments from Tyler Merrill, Ben Nichols, and Sullivan Garvin so far. There is a spot for one or two commitments, and the Fighting Irish have their eyes on several talented offensive tackles to hopefully complete the class. That includes an elite one in Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge offensive tackle Felix Ojo.

Ojo was scheduled to make his first visit to South Bend on April 10th. It was unlikely Notre Dame was going to have much of a chance to land him in the end, but Joe Rudolph and the staff were certainly battling. It was announced on Tuesday that Ojo has canceled his visit, and there doesn't seem like much interest in rescheduling as of now.

Ojo is considered to be an elite level recruit across the major recruiting platforms. He ranks very high on the 247Sports ranking currently, sitting as a five-star player. On that ranking, Ojo is currently pegged as the No. 7 overall player, No. 2 offensive tackle, and No. 2 player in the state of Texas in the 2026 recruiting class. The On3 Industry ranking has Ojo ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the class.

The 6-6, 275-pound offensive tackle has been pursued by some of the top programs in all of college football. Some of his best offers right now include the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Oregon, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, Ole Miss, Auburn, USC, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Penn State, Florida State, Missouri, Kansas State, SMU, Arkansas, Baylor, Texas Tech, UCLA, Arizona State, Colorado, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Pitt, Boston College, TCU, Duke, Cal, Houston, Kansas, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Washington, Memphis, and Purdue among others.

Notre Dame is still in a good place with a couple of talented offensive linemen, including Gregory Patrick and Ekene Ogboko, so this isn't the end of the world. It is very possible, however, that the board just got a little smaller.
