Predicting the next five Notre Dame commitments following the Fighting Irish stealing away star CB Ace Aston from Ohio State
Predicting the five next commitments in the Notre Dame 2027 recruiting class.
Notre Dame received a big commitment on Tuesday from 2027 Cincinnati (Ohio) Anderson cornerback Ace Alston. Head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish were able to beat out other finalists Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, Penn State, USC, Indiana, and Missouri. Beating out the Buckeyes for a player like Alston is a huge statement from the program.
Now that Alston is on board, Notre Dame can set their attention on the rest of the 2027 recruiting board. Here are some players to keep a close eye on who the Irish are in a great spot. While this isn’t necessary in order, here are my predictions for the next five commitments in the class for the Irish.
Predicting next Notre Dame commitments
CB Xavier Hasan – Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons
Things have been trending in a great direction with Hasan over the last couple of months. The 6-0, 180-pound cover man is a tremendous talent, and he would be arguably the most gifted cover cornerback that Mike Mickens would have landed. Hasan currently sits as the No. 36 overall player on the 247 Sports Composite ranking, and there is a good chance he threatens five-star status when all is said and done. Notre Dame is the clear leader right now for the North Carolina star. This feels like a matter of when, not if, at this point.
WR Quentin Burrell – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel
At 6-3 and 175 pounds, Burrell is the type of boundary wide receiver that the Fighting Irish need more of. With Burrell being a top-50 recruit right in their backyard, he is a player that the Irish need to close on effectively. From a player, academic, and cultural perspective, Burrell seems to fit Notre Dame perfectly. He is a player that the staff has had a high opinion of for a very long time, and the Chicago standout has reciprocated that interest. There isn’t a firm timeline on making a decision, but the Irish are frontrunning.
DT Brayden Parks – Chicago (Ill.) Brother Rice
A bigger interior presence at 6-3 and 305 pounds, Parka brings the impact size that Notre Dame has been pushing hard for. Like Burrell, Parks is a local talent who seemingly fits the program perfectly, so they need to close on him. Parks is a dominant performer for Brother Rice, and his upside is immense. While defensive tackle isn’t a position you typically see play early for Notre Dame, I believe Parks has the talent to do so. He is that talented a player.
TE Seneca Driver – Danville (Ky.) Boyle County
If you remember former Notre Dame defensive back Tony Driver, this is his nephew. The younger Driver is one of the more talented tight ends in the 2027 recruiting class. At 6-6 and 235 pounds, he has the straight-line speed and catch radius to make a ton of huge plays in the passing game. The Fighting Irish have been the assumed leader for the Kentucky native for some time now, but it is a loaded tight end board. A couple of talented players need to make a decision pretty soon to solidify their spots.
CB Tavares Harrington – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel
On the quest to lock down the Chicagoland area, Harrington is very much an important part of that quest. At 6-3 and 175 pounds, he is a very long cornerback, which Mike Mickens tends to hold in high regard. There is a chance that Harrington also ends up inside at safety with his natural size and physicality. With how much the Fighting Irish values versatility on defense, Harrington should fit right in. Notre Dame has been in a good spot for some time now. Closing the deal down the stretch would be big for the Chicago standout.
