Things between the Notre Dame football staff and 2027 Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb quarterback Teddy Jarrard have escalated quickly since being offered several weeks ago. Along with Louisiana signal caller Peyton Houston, Jarrard was a member of a two-man quarterback board for the Fighting Irish. There was no questioning who the key targets were for the program.
While Houston had Notre Dame a little further down the board, Jarrard has had a very high opinion of the Fighting Irish, and that has grown extensively in recent weeks. There had been no rush on the Jarrard side to make a quick decision, but it appears he may have gotten all the answers he was looking for.
It has been reported that Jarrard will be making his decision on Thursday at 1 PM Eastern time. The Georgia signal caller will be deciding between Notre Dame, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State.
There’s no skating around this one, I love where Notre Dame stands, and I wouldn’t want to be anyone else at the moment. The Irish staff will have to close down the stretch, but I like them to finish out on Thursday.
Jarrard has continued to skyrocket up the rankings this offseason with his consistent performances at camps, as well as the 7-on-7 circuit. He is now considered a four-star recruit on the On3 Industry and 247Sports Composite rankings. The former has Jarrard currently pegged as the No. 171 overall player, No. 12 quarterback, and No. 24 player in the state of Georgia for the 2026 recruiting class.
Rivals is even higher on Jarrard than the consensus right now. In a recent recruiting update, they had him ranked as the No. 2 overall quarterback in the 2027 class.
247Sports continues to be the outlier, ranking Jarrard as a three-star player. That remains true even after their most recent ranking update, which is bizarre. With Jarrard potentially committing to the Irish this week, that probably won’t be changing.
Like the majority of his recruiting rankings, Jarrard’s offer list has also continued to get more and more impressive over the last several months. Some of his top offers include Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Auburn, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, UNC, NC State, Illinois, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Duke, and Cincinnati among several others.
The 6-3, 195-pound signal caller experienced a breakout season as a sophomore. In his first year as the full time starter, Jarrard threw for 2,647 yards and 31 touchdowns while only throwing five interceptions and completing nearly 72 percent of his passes. The Georgia native also added another rushing score on the ground.
