Predicting the Notre Dame wide receiver depth chart following the transfer portal addition of former Ohio State WR Mylan Graham
Early wide receiver depth chart projections should get Notre Dame fans excited as the transfer portal process nears the end.
Notre Dame football put its finishing touches on a really impressive transfer portal wide receiver class on Tuesday with the commitment of former Ohio State wideout Mylan Graham. Along with Quincy Porter, head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish staff managed to attract two former five-star pass catchers for the Buckeyes. There’s a reason that each player was so highly coveted, and the hope is that Mike Brown and this Irish staff can get the most out of them.
With those two acquisitions, we now firmly know what the Notre Dame wide receiver group is going to look like for the 2026 college football season. This is the deepest wide receiver room we have seen in South Bend in quite some time. There are going to be a ton of offseason battles that are going to rage on over the next few months. It is going to be a fun group to monitor over the winter and spring.
A new transfer portal WR ideology
In years past, Notre Dame has valued proven production when it comes to wide receiver portal additions. After an early miss on former Michigan State standout Nick Marsh, the Irish staff was left to change their ideology. They opted to go for a bit of a youth movement and bet on upside. It will now be up to quarterback CJ Carr to get them the football, and for the staff to optimize the talent overall.
Projected wide receiver depth chart
With the additions of Porter and Graham, the Notre Dame wide receiver room is set going into the 2026 season. One interesting position switch I’d keep a close eye on is whether the Irish staff thinks about moving Faison into the slot. With more Z receiver options, it feels like a more natural position fit to let Faison excel on the inside. It is possible that they leave Faison at Z and let Greathouse take the majority of the reps in the slot, but that would keep a slightly slower lineup on the field together.
Either way, I expect Notre Dame to run a deeper rotation this year. I haven’t been as optimistic about a wide receiver room since Golden Tate and Michael Floyd shared the same room.
Here is how I would project that room to look. Obviously, things can change.

Boundary: Quincy Porter (So.)
