The Ohio State Buckeyes continue working the recruiting trail quite hard. Their 2026 HS class continues to climb the rankings, and they have just added another important offensive piece to the puzzle in Columbus.

Four-star OT Sam Greer commits to Buckeyes

According to Hayes Fawcett, four-star offensive tackle Sam Greer has committed to Ohio State over Missouri, Florida, Tennessee, among others. It is a massive win for Ryan Day's program in every sense of the word.

Auburn, Florida State, Miami and Wisconsin all also had offers out to Greer. Greer is ranked as the No. 12 offensive tackle and No. 99 prospect overall in the 2026 HS recruiting class, according to On3.

Greer looms at 6'7 or 6'8, depending on where you look, and around 300 pounds. His stature and build are prototypical to be a start OL at the level of college football. Not to mention, he has the upside to be a future NFL Draft pick.

The in-state product had multiple notable SEC offers but chose to stick to his roots and become a member of the class for the Buckeyes. Greer visited Ohio State for the second time on Tuesday morning and publicly committed in the afternoon.

“The o-line has four different coaches helping with development and making sure you’re being the best version of yourself every day. I really appreciate having all that feedback in real time from the coaches and I love the tempo and culture of OSU.

Ohio State is about the feel the pains and joys of having players selected early and often in this year's draft. Josh Simmons and Donovan Jackson are both offensive linemen from the Buckeyes that are expected to go in the first two rounds. Both are rock solid pro prospects, who developed immensely at Ohio State.

Greer hopes to be in the next potential crop of NFL players once his Buckeye career concludes. They have a notable track record of placing linemen on both sides of the ball in the NFL.
