Ohio State is waking up on top of the college football world this morning.
The Buckeyes won a National Championship last night over Notre Dame and capped off an amazing four-game run in the College Football Playoff.
Ohio State recruits at an elite level and they always had the roster to make a championship happen this year. They went out and got it done and Ryan Day moved to 70-10 as a head coach in the process.
Speaking of recruiting at an elite level, a National Championship is only going to help Ohio State out on the trail. The top 2026 commitment is Chris Henry Jr. for the Buckeyes and he seemed to be ecstatic following the big game.
This year we watched Jeremiah Smith have a special season as a newcomer. Henry is going to have a big chance to be an impact player as a freshman in college football during the 2026 season. That 2026 season will be Smith’s junior year and last year in Columbus surely.
Day is now one of three active coaches with a National Championship win on their resume. Henry is the No. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2026 and a top-10 player in the class. Schools like Oregon and USC are still recruiting Henry hard, so the Buckeyes beating the Ducks, and then winning it all only helps themselves in that race.
Ohio State’s recruiting ability out of high school and in the transfer portal is something they must keep up if they want to land back in this spot again next year. As we see, the win is already having an impact on recruits, and the Buckeyes now have there as a selling point in their back pocket.

It didn’t turn out his way.
