One of college football's most looked-at teams ahead of the 2024 season is none other than the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ryan Day has had strong success within the program as the head coach, but despite the fact he went 56-8 in his first 64 games in this position, there's still more to be desired. That sounds like a shocking thing to say at first glance, but the bar is always higher when it comes to college football's greatest programs.
And that's exactly what the Buckeyes are. But they have still yet to fully overcome the arch rival Michigan Wolverines or win a conference championship for three consecutive seasons.
In a recent interview on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, college football analyst Bruce Feldman made his thoughts clear on the situation he believes Day is in.
He views 2024 as a title game win or bust type of season for the squad, based upon his recent comments.
“I hate to say it like this, but I feel like it is national championship or bust for them,” Feldman said. “You know people forget they came within a field goal of probably winning the national title (when playing the CFP semifinal against Georgia). I mean, they were up by double digits. (C.J.) Stroud played great and played like what he’s doing in the NFL. And then Marvin Harrison Jr. gets knocked out of the game."
With multiple new transfer additions and a clear hunger to get back to the highest stage college football, has to offer, it will be interesting to watch how the Buckeyes capitalize on their opportunities in the 2024 season.
