Ohio State’s fourth straight loss to Michigan is going to sting for some time. It is going to sting until they are back on the field later in December, then it could sting even longer depending on what happens in the College Football Playoff.
The Buckeyes were far and away the better team than Michigan heading into the game. But they were punked from the very beginning and operated with an incapable offense out of nowhere.
Following the game, former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions put his name back into the picture with a message to the Buckeyes’ faithful.
Stalions wrote in a post on X: “Hi friends! They said I wasn’t allowed in Columbus this year. Just checking in on my buddy Ryan. Everything good???”
Stalions is now a volunteer coach at a high school in Michigan after previously being on Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan staff. Stalions is best known for being accused of being the lead guy in the Michigan sign-stealing scandal that is ongoing.
Ohio State had a chance to accomplish a goal they haven’t since 2019 and that was to beat Michigan. Instead, the streak of losing continues, and so does the chances of the Buckeyes playing for a Big Ten title.
"Each game is different,” Day said after the game. "The results are the results. As hard as that is to say, we came up short again here today. That's not easy to swallow at all."
Ohio State will now have next weekend off, so expect plenty of noise to be heard between now and the College Football Playoff selections being made.
