It is game week once again for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the stage is getting bigger and bigger. Ohio State gets their rematch with the Oregon Ducks in the quarterfinal of the College Football Playoff.

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California will be the site where one of the teams will be able to punch their ticket to the semifinals. Either Arizona State or Texas will be next for the Buckeyes they can win.

It is prediction time for just about everyone at this time. ESPN’s Paul Finebaum has been an interesting person in the media when it comes to Ohio State. Finebaum has made his prediction for how the Rose Bowl will play out.

“We saw what happened against Michigan, we are over that,” Finebaum said recently. “We saw what happened in the Oregon game. They’re inconsistent and I think against Oregon, who has been a flawless team most of the season, I don’t think they’re going to get it done. Peg me in for the Ducks, quack, quack.”

The Oregon game was played on Oct. 13 in Eugene and that should matter when talking about this game. On a neutral site, things will be a bit different in terms of fans there and the pressure. This game could very well be the matchup between the top two teams in the country. It is a shame that we have to see it this early in the new expanded format.

Ohio State gave up nearly 500 yards of offense to Oregon last time and that just can’t happen again. The Buckeyes have the best defense in the country and that game was by far the worst of the season for Jim Knowles’ unit. Ohio State will have to play a cleaner game on both sides in this game.

Oregon is a tough team to match up against because they are well-balanced just like the Buckeyes. They are a high-scoring offense that can match up with you defensively. We just maybe getting a classic on Wednesday.
