Ohio State at Wisconsin Final Score Predictions: Is this the last game for Luke Fickell in Madison?
The final predictions for this Big Ten matchup are in ahead of Saturday’s game.
It’s Week 8 of the college football season already and that means we are getting into the thick of conference play. The Ohio State Buckeyes will play their fourth Big Ten game on the road, making their second straight trip heading west when they play the Wisconsin Badgers. Ohio State is heading into this game 25-point favorite according to most sports books and they’re expected to roll against 2-4 Wisconsin. The team here at A to Z Sports takes a crack at what that may look like below.
Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 3
Wisconsin is down bad this season but going to Camp Randall Stadium and blowing them out is still easier said than done. Combine that with Fickell being a former Ohio State coach and how slow the Buckeyes want to move on offense, I don’t expect them to run the score up like they could. Ohio State is going to be able to score when needed in this one and it should be put away in the first half. The Buckeyes will get to lean on their defense which has a great matchup against Wisconsin’s struggling offense that averages just 292 yards per game. I expect the Buckeyes to get to a point where they’ll be able to put the backups in for the final drive. No worries of a struggle or letdown on the road this weekend. — Brandon Little
Ohio State 45, Wisconsin 0
Seeing Ohio State be the nail in the coffin for Luke Fickell’s coaching tenure at Wisconsin seems more than likely at this juncture. The Badgers are an awful team, which is a sad ending for the former Buckeyes defensive coordinator. Right now, Ohio State enters this matchup more concerned about getting through games like this than it is trying to fine-tune too much or make a big statement. Ryan Day is pacing his troops for an inevitable deep College Football Playoff run, and that strategy means he’ll grind out a game plan and escape with an impressive but not maximized margin of victory. I don’t think the Buckeyes even try to get this shutdown, but will notch one because they’re that much better than Wisconsin. — Ian Valentino
Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 7
The Buckeyes have lived up to every bit of hype entering the season so far, and I do not expect a hiccup against a struggling Wisconsin team. Ohio State’s defense may be even better than last year, even after losing many notable pieces to the NFL. The front seven for the Buckeyes clears the rest of the country by a very, very clear margin, and Arvell Reese is playing like a top-five overall pick. Oh yeah, they have Caleb Downs on the back end as well.
As for the Badgers, it’s been a rotation of quarterbacks due to injury and poor play this season, and Luke Fickell seems to be riding out what could be his final games as the team’s head coach. I don’t predict that their offense will do much to test OSU’s defensive talent, and the final score will prove that. — Adam Holt

Joel Klatt just floated an Ohio State coach to replace James Franklin at Penn State, and Buckeye Nation will want no part of it
Just a month ago, the thought was that when the Penn State Nittany Lions rolled into Columbus in November, it would be a key game for the Ohio State Buckeyes. While it’s still an important matchup, it’s no longer the top-three showdown it looked like it could be at the beginning of the season. Penn […]
