Ohio State has the top running back room entering the 2024 college football season but with that comes a need to build for the future.

Doing just that had to be a point of emphasis for the Buckeyes staff in this recruiting cycle. Ohio State is well on its way to doing that after receiving its second running back commitment from Isaiah West, a former Kentucky commit that Ohio State offered not long ago.

West joined Bo Jackson as the pair of running back commitments that Ohio State has already landed. Jackson committed to play in Columbus back on June 4 and West followed up by committing 12 days later.

Now, Ohio State will turn to finding their third running back. Four-star California running back Jordon Davison is the guy for that spot many believe. Davison is the No. 6 running back in the class of 2025, according to the 247 Sports Composite.

Ohio State was lucky to get back TreVeyon Henderson for his senior season after bypassing his first opportunity to enter the NFL Draft. Then, the Buckeyes went out and added Quinshon Judkins in the transfer portal. Both are likely to be heading to the NFL Draft after the 2024 season.

Going into this season, Ohio State will have two freshman running backs playing behind their dynamic duo. James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon are next up in the room for the Buckeyes. Walk on running back TC Caffey is a redshirt sophomore that the staff has been high on as well.

In his first season with Ohio State, running backs coach Carlos Locklyn is well on his way to bringing in a strong class that the Buckeyes need. After serving time as an assistant at Oregon, Locklyn is in a great place at Ohio State.
